Study visit of auditors from Zambia

Within Twinning Project  “Peer-to-peer institutional support to the Office of the Auditor General in Zambia“, in the week 13 – 17 June 2022 national experts from the Office of the Auditor General in Zambia participate in the study visit in Croatia. The study visit is implemented within project activity 3.2 named: Enhancing skills and capabilities of OAG staff to apply the standards set by the International Organization of Supreme Audit Institutions and other internationally recognized bodies approved by the Government. During study visit, the national experts from the Office of the Auditor General participate in meetings, presentations and trainings in the Agency for Audit of European Union Programmes Implementation System (ARPA) and in the State Audit Office (central office in Zagreb and regional office in Split).  

Main topics presented by the Croatian national experts to the colleagues from Zambia, cover the following:

1) Institutional and legal framework, organisation and activities in ARPA; differences in work of ARPA and SAO with focus on the work of ARPA; public procurement – most often errors in public procurement; IT audit

2) Role and responsibilities of State Audit Office of Republic of Croatia – mandate and scope of work; organisational structure and human resources; work methodology and audit processes; communication policies; development processes and achieved results; international activities; position and organisation of regional offices and audit of local and regional self-government units – SAO approach and methodology.
