Asylum, Migration and Integration Fund (AMIF)

The Asylum, Migration and Integration Fund (AMIF) was established for the period 2021–2027 with a total budget of €9.88 billion. The Fund aims to further strengthen national capacities and improve migration management procedures, as well as to enhance solidarity and the sharing of responsibilities among Member States, particularly through emergency assistance and relocation mechanisms, while respecting the rules and principles set out in the chapter on the Fundamental Principles of the European Union.

AMIF will contribute to achieving four specific objectives:

  • Strengthening and further developing all aspects of the Common European Asylum System, including its external dimension
  • Supporting legal migration to Member States, including contributing to the integration of third-country nationals
  • Contributing to the fight against irregular migration and ensuring the effectiveness of return and readmission to third countries
  • Enhancing solidarity and the fair sharing of responsibility among Member States, particularly towards those most affected by migration and asylum challenges

Under the Programme of the Asylum, Migration and Integration Fund 2021–2027, an amount of €47,316,335.00 is available to the Republic of Croatia.
