Closing ceremony of the Twinning Light Project

Strengthening of the Agency for the Audit of European Union Programmes Implementation System (Audit Authority) for the Audit of EAGF, EAFRD and EMFF

On Thursday, 23 February 2017, at 10:00 a.m., in the House of Europe (Representation of the European Commission to the Republic of Croatia), Augusta Cesarca 4, Zagreb, a formal closing ceremony marked the end of the Twinning Light Project - Strengthening of the Agency for the Audit of European Union Programmes Implementation System (Audit Authority) for the Audit of EAGF, EAFRD and EMFF.

The Agency was the beneficiary of the project in cooperation with the Austrian Agency for European Integration and Economic Development, being a lead partner from the member state within this project. The overall objective was to prepare the Republic of Croatia for sound financial management of European Agricultural Guarantee and (EAGF), European Agricultural Fund for Rural Development (EAFRD) and European Maritime and Fisheries Fund (EMFF) in line with the EU requirements. The purpose of this project, worth EUR 240.858.00, was to increase effectiveness of the Audit Authority (Certification Body) for the audit of EAGF, EAFRD and EMFF through the development of relevant audit procedures and practical trainings.

The team of high-level Austrian, Estonian, German, Slovenian, Swedish and Finnish Authorities’ professionals, with an extensive expertise in the field of EAGF, EAFRD and EMFF audit, made their contribution by cooperating together to ensure the successful implementation of this Twinning Light Project.

Ms Mirella Rašić, Head of Team for Political Reporting and Analyses in the Representation of the European Commission to the Republic of Croatia and Mr Alfred Finz, PhD, State Secretary of the Austrian Ministry of Finance, held an opening speech. Then, the audience was addressed by Mr Friedrich Schabauer, Member State Project Leader, Austrian Ministry of Agriculture and Forestry, Environment and Water Management; Ms Sanja Colnago, Assistant Director in Agency, Head of Sector; and Mr Neven Šprlje, BC Project Leader, Director of Agency.
